Thank you all for your concern.
I don't believe that either the landlord or the accommodation is guilty – the problem has been caused by my bubble-wrapped windows. When I put on my landlady hat I know that I have had tenants create similar problems, so as soon as I dare, the natural ventilation will be restored.
