Ready, Aim .....
At last, V day is here. We set off bright and early for our appointments at the brand New MacRobert Pavilion at the Royal Highland Showground. The roads were clear and the sun was shining. There were signposts all along the A8 and we arrived at the gate in plenty of time. Our appointments were checked and due to my temporary mobility restrictions we were directed to the priority parking! There were one or two people waiting outside but when we spoke to them they said they were early for their appointments. They were scheduled earlier than us, but as they said they hadn't been in, we said we would go and ask and if we didn't come back out they could probably assume it was ok and come in too.
Inside all was well, our paperwork was checked again and we were booked in. We were sent to a waiting area looking out onto the showground which was looking lovely in the snow. Within a couple of minutes we were collected and taken to a booth, together or not, that was our choice.
We were vaccinated by this nice young army medic, a member of 3 Rifles Regiment based in Edinburgh. He was in camouflage gear, but not as full as in my extra which was from their website. He was happy to be blipped when I explained. Again our paperwork was checked and we were vaccinated, I reckon someone who is a rifleman probably has a good aim! We were given the Pfizer vaccine which with all the current discussion seems to be a good option, not that we had a choice of course. We sat for 15 minutes again watching the view then left. All very effective and straightforward, thank you NHS and 3 Rifles! Incredibly efficient and organised, friendly, helpful people and a pleasant, safe feeling, setting.
On our way home we dropped into Ali's, as we were out and about anyway, to drop off some washing and pick up the next lot. We were back home within an hour of leaving, all having gone smoothly and having enjoyed some beautiful snowy views of the Pentlands on the way.
Thank you everybody for your kind comments, stars and hearts for my Snowperson building efforts yesterday. I love receiving hearts and finding my images on the popular pages, I must remember to be more generous myself.
Keep well and safe everybody, the world around us here looks beautiful in the snow, the sun is shining, the sky is blue and all is well in this corner of Scotland! We are very blessed.
