Woodcock

This poor bird is cowering away from Ruadh who was doing her pointer bit. When we got Ruadh away we persuaded the bird to fly and this revealed a distinct lack of feathers on one wing. I susepct it was shot, but not enough, by some hunters. Shame as they are subtly beautiful birds and hardly worth eating.
