Sitting on the terrace of Al Deira, I spotted three boys playing in the water with car tyres, as a man walked past wheeling a rarely-seen bicycle.

There are very few recreational facilities for children, or even adults, in Gaza. It can be difficult for people to relieve the stress of daily life under occupation and closure, so a sunny day at the beach is an important way for people to relax.
