Tough day

One of my managed tenants had a fire in her house this morning. She was downstairs and was alerted by smoke alarms sounding. The firemen were wonderful. Their speedy action not only saved this unit but also the attached unit next door. The fire investigator found the source to be an electrical fault in a heater cord. I had to break the news to the owner. She took it very well. Luckily she has full insurance including loss of rent insurance. The whole top storey has to be rebuilt. At least nobody was hurt.
