Destruction/Reconstruction
Reconstruction is well underway across the Gaza Strip after the last war in November. Unfortunately, the cycle of destruction and reconstruction is all too familiar for the people of Gaza.
With negotiations for a ceasefire ongoing, in the early morning of the last day of the offensive, Israeli warplanes bombarded al-Sikka Bridge, which links al-Nussairat refugee camp and al-Mughraqa village, and the Coastal Bridge, which links Gaza City and the central Gaza Strip, destroying them.
I previously posted a photograph of the damage to the Coastal Bridge, which I took when I was on my way home for Christmas. As you can see, two months later, the bridge is almost restored, though the closure of the Gaza Strip means that most of the materials had to be recycled from the wreckage.
