Beaver dam?

According to well informed sources (my oldest son) this is one of a series of beaver dams in the rivulet/creek Fischbach.
I had no difficulties to find the dam, but I saw no traces of beavers. You know, those path-like tracks where there big flat tail drags behind them when they go out of and into the water. Or trees with bite marks, for that matter.
So I would rather think we have coypus/nutrias/beaver rats here. I will return to the place in spring time, perhaps I will see evidence then. Of either.
