The Girl with the Red Anorak

This is the longest time in recent years that snow has lain unmelted and as crunchy as when it appeared at the beginning of the week. With a wind chill this afternoon of -6°, it is unsurprising.

I did a circuit of the marches this morning and it was so bitter that I vowed not to venture out again, but when David and Luca popped past the patio just after lunch, I did relent enough to stand and chat outside for 15 minutes before we all got frozen.

One good turn deserves another and when a bunch of tulips was found outside my door yesterday evening, I tracked down the givers by a process of elimination and have baked them a fruit loaf to say thank you. It is lovely to have this neighbourliness in the present circumstances.
