Day 044/21. Pollarding.

A tree on our walk today. Many of the roadside trees in our neighbourhood have been pollarded by our local council.
Pollarding is a pruning system involving the removal of the upper branches of a tree, which promotes the growth of a dense head of foliage and branches. It certainly looks like it's achieving that in this example.
