Samuel wanted to go for a much longer walk this morning but it was raining and sleeting and getting harder.

This picture is of the icicles coming off an evergreen tree. 

A lot of people are disappointed today. There never really was a chance of conviction but I think the House Managers had done such a good job that some people dared to hope. 

I had a nice conversation with my mother-in-law about the future of balancing risks. In the early days of HIV we had to learn how to balance risks. Women always have had to. When I am vaccinated I will fly on planes and go indoors to get my hair cut. I want to see the aurora borealis and Victoria Falls. I want to hug people and make them laugh in person. I can do all these things even if we still live in a Covid world. 

The second jab only gave her a headache and fatigue and she's better now.
