In Memory Of....

While preparing for a hike, my friend rang and informed me Cisco, who I blipped on February 8th and 12th, had passed away. Upon waking she found him in respiratory distress and rushed him to the vet where he eventually went into respiratory arrest. Both Cisco's human were by his side as well as his two sisters. Since Cisco was 13 and in failing health, no extradorinary measures were taken. However, medication was provided to ease his symptoms. His final moments were filled with love and gentle strokes.

I was shocked upon learning of his demise even though I knew he had been in failing health. We always believe we have another day or another moment when in reality we never know when we will be taken from this earth. So the message is hold those you love close to your heart.

I had a good cry while hiking in Hoyt Arboretum, but then this flower caught my eye and for some reason my sadness lifted as I recalled the 8 wonderful years I had with Cisco. I'll miss you Cisco!
