Saint Valentine's Day 2021

The snow is rapidly thawing but the wind is still howling in from the North Sea.


Extra. Our father was a Valentine's baby and today, had he lived, he would have celebrated his 106th birthday. He was born in Canada, a descendent  of Irish immigrants escaping the Great Famine. When the Second World War broke out he volunteered for the Canadian Army and landed in Normandy with the Royal Canadian Engineers.
