Ancient oak pollard near Hadstock.
We went over to Hadstock just over the border in Essex for our walk today... Taking advantage of the frozen ground. Last time we were here it was so muddy that walking just wasn't a pleasure...
Like yesterday the wind was bitingly cold and my fingers froze trying to use the camera... I did manage this photograph which records just how open the countryside is here. This pollarded oak tree must once have been part of a hedge or field boundary of some sort. Now it stands all alone in the landscape...
