A Boy and his Dog
Well an almost 50 year old man rather than a boy!
My day has been fairly productive day. We got up fairly early and went for a walk in the Chilterns. We did the "Cholesbury Camp" route which goes through the villages of Cholesbury and Hawridge. It was about 3.8miles although we did a shortcut and cut it off earlier (about 3 miles). Phoebe is still a pup and we don't want to push her too much. She loved it though - she was dashing about like a mad thing picking up sticks and running ahead and then back to us, sniffing about. It's great stimulation for dogs and gives them mental and physical exercise.
It was also incredibly peaceful - I think I forgot how much I love walking in the Chilterns. You can find yourself in the middle of fields and it's so quiet. At one point we stopped in a wooded area and when you listened you could hear the gentle click of the tops of the trees tapping each other gently - so relaxing.
Once we got home we did some homeworky type stuff like change sheets, get washing on and have lunch. I also then managed to catch up and get on the front foot with week 6 reading and the "contribution" entry - this is where we engage with the group for online learning - it's a chore but it does mean you do the week's reading - worked so far.
I am hoping to get a start on the assignment for this module tomorrow evening which is due on the 24th March. It feels odd to be this close to the end! Exciting and sad.
I think this evening will be a chilled one. We aren't specifically doing anything for V-day - we have our birthdays the week before so neither of us feels inclined to make a thing of this day - but we did exchange cards and Steve is baking a nice home made bread for dinner so all is good with the world.
I think we will all sleep well tonight.
