Valentines Day is a day to celebrate love and romance but not many know the origin behind the event and its not a lovely one to say the least. Emperor Claudius II executed two men on the 14th of February in the 3rd Century AD. Both in different years of the 3rd Century but same day. Both of these men were named Valentine. And Valentines Day is a celebration of the honour given by the Catholic Church to the to men for their martyrdom.
