Hearing restored, Jibon Tari floating hospital

To celebrate this Sunday's International Day for Ear and Hearing our colleagues in Bangladesh have sent this shot from the top deck of their Jibon Tari floating hospital, showing patients recovering from ENT surgery.

Huge swathes of the delta region are innacessible by road, so the floating hospital has been providing a lifeline for underserved communities since 1999.

It is estimated that half of all cases of hearing loss are preventable. Many more cases can be treated through early diagnosis, treatment & surgery.
