Two's company, three's a crowd.

On my bike ride this morning I noticed three horses in a field. These two seemed to have much more of a bond, leaving the third by itself.
They are social animals, and get lonely in isolation. They also mourne the loss of a family member.
Horses can sleep both standing up or lying down, a trait shared with some bipeds at supermarket check outs.
