Beer with a good head
Thank you very much for all the birthday greetings yesterday, that was most kind.
It was much milder today and F and I drove the couple of miles to Queen's Head to do a walk on lanes and canal towpath.
I spotted this head fixed on a fence. At first glance I thought that it was an Australian hat with corks but when I looked properly realised that it was a Guiness one. At least she'll get a drink as the pubs are closed!
The snow had gone but there was still quite a lot of ice around. The canal was partly covered and where there was water there was a thick layer of ice. People had thrown sticks in and they had sat on top. Of course F had to have a go too.
We got back just as the rain started so it was a well timed walk.
