Defrosting

Fortunately the wind has died down completely today and the temperature is rising. Plenty of fallen branches and a few trees too. Most of the pavements are now clear but ice and snow linger in places

I saw a flock of redwings gathered in a field on my walk. A man stopped to tell me that was what they were and how to identify them. He told me that he usually volunteers at a local RSPB reserve so I think he is missing talking to visitors there.
