Cobweb or Spider’s web?
I thought it was worth returning to tell you that a spiders web is called a cobweb because the old English word for spider was was coppe. It turns out cobwebs are only produced by Theridiidae (aka cobweb spiders) and Linyphiidae (aka money spiders). All other webs should be known as ‘spider webs’
Thank you to www.dundeesciencecentre.org.uk for that.
Whatever ... I think this one is bloody impressive and made more beautiful by the recent cold weather.
I might be back?
