Looking out / Ausschau halten

The fishmarket in Greifswald is now a key meeting place for Bürger and Besucher alike.

Around the central fountain there are several evocative, life-sized sculptures by local artist Jo Jastram which really bring its history to life. I was particularly taken by this fishwife leaning out of her window, and her child balancing on her strong back...

Thankfully this evening the aroma was of coffee from the bakery, and the only creatures writhing in ice were my kids playing in the frozen fountain.
