St Hilda's in the Grasses
Walking up the Abbey Road side of Warley Woods today came across this view of St Hilda's church tower from an angle I had not spotted before.
A brisk St David's Day walk around the woods was just what the doctor ordered.
Warley Woods, when it was laid out as a landscape in the late 18th century, was three miles outside the city - the country pad of the Galton family. Now it is in the middel of an urban sprawl. But, at times and especially at grass roots level, you could be forgiven for thinking it was still in the countryside!
