Not everyone on Blip knows who Joe Tree was, but all of us who use Blip and enjoy it owe him a huge debt of thanks.  Without his original concept Blip wouldn't be the sort of online  community that it is today.  

So it seems fitting to celebrate today with this rather spectacular tree which I discovered recently and have been saving up for today.  I had hoped that we would have a decent sky to go with the day, but the only real break in the cloud was this morning and this afternoon it just rained constantly.  

Its such a great tree that I anticipate taking further photos of it in the future, when conditions are right.  Unfortunately it is a fair step away from home, so it takes me a while to get to it, and it is only currently reachable by some very, very muddy paths.  So its more of a pilgrimage tree ...

Apologies if you are seeing this and wondering what happened to the colour version but I suddenly realised that the mono version was much more dramatic.
