sunshine!
what a lovely day we have had up here. sorry to everyone down south who has had a dismal one, we seem to have swapped yesterday's weather.
we had lunch outside on the patio! we'd never got round to putting away the table and chairs, so just opened a couple of chairs and enjoyed the spring-like day!
John went off on his old motorbike and I went for a long walk. the photo is of the old New Lanark public burial ground, used in the late 18th and early 19th centuries for the mill workers and families. The New Lanark Trust took the decision to just leave the area to nature, and slowly the stones are falling down and getting overgrown, although all of the details have been recorded. It is a very peaceful place and I walk by a lot and often try and take a good shot of it, but it is not easy. I'll try again in summer.
We'd agreed to meet at home at 3 to go for a run in our old Chevy - can't believe we are able to go out and enjoy it on 1st of March!!! As we just got a new battery yesterday, some water and oil and she burst into life first time! not bad for a 90 year old car! so we took a drive for coffee and now at 5.45pm the sun is just starting to set. what a fantastic day.
hope everyone has a great weekend.
the BBC website has a wonderful bit of video about the garden photographer of the year competition. worth a look for 5 minutes.
