A Busy Day...
...not least because I had my first Covid jab.
As many have reported, the whole procedure was very well organised and no inconvenience at all. I only had to drive to my nearest town where the old Job Centre has been turned into the vaccination hub. The army of volunteers are doing a great job.
I had already decided to have a walk at Stover before returning home again but the weather turned wet and windy within a few minutes of my arrival.
The outflow was a torrent of muddy water so it seemed unlikely that the Kingfisher would be around.
The only character kind enough to pose was one of the multitude of robins who are busy establishing their territories.
In the evening I took part in a zoom meeting with two other Camera Clubs discussing how we are going to continue an idea that we've trialed this season.
We have been successfully sharing part of our programme with a club in Kent this year and now this will be extended to include a club based in London.
This allows the membership of all three clubs to dip into the varied programmes, to join presentations and enjoy a wide range of speakers.
The season will culminate with a 3 way battle and we're hoping, when restrictions are lifted, to be able to visit each other's areas.
The London based club has already decided to continue with a zoom based programme for the whole of next season while we and our friends in Tonbridge, are hoping to be able to meet up again in person.
I was told that several clubs who have not embraced the zoom revolution, have folded after years of existence. How very sad.
Of course no one knows what will be possible but at least I feel that with the extraordinary vaccine rollout, we are all heading back to more normality.
