Unexpected

When I went to open the door on to the verandah this morning I was surprised to see a kingfisher sitting by the mat. Perhaps it was warming up - the temperature was only 5C - or it might have wanted a drink from the nearby bucket of water I use for the hanging baskets.  It flew off after its photo was taken and I saw it later sitting on the power line.
