Back to the reservoir
Darren came home from work very tired. For those who don’t know he’s a postman. Having COVID late last year really affected him physically and even though he’s back at work now and doing his full duty he still gets out of breath and gets tired.
He’s been doing half walk for a few weeks to get him back in to it, and he felt fine, tired but fine, this week he returned to full duty and he’s found it hard, it’s not that he can’t do it, he can but the difference between half walk and full walk as certainly taken its toll. Of course he has to walk me too which he loves doing but it does add to his overall tiredness. He’s hoping as times goes on he will be able to physically cope better.
So tonight he left it late to take me for walk and decided that as it was after 5 o’clock he’d take me to reservoir and hoped it would be quiet. Fortunately it was and we didn’t encounter that many other walkers in the 40 minutes we were out. I had a lot of energy and was doing quite a lot of running, Darren was walking at quite a fast pace to keep up with me.
Happily it’s Darren’s day off tomorrow so he can relax this evening without having to think about getting up early in morning.
