The new arrangements when waiting at the local doctors' surgery involve standing outside, until one is called in, or waiting in your car, if you have one. On a fine day it fairly beats a stuffy waiting room, though of course you miss out on the social side of the surgery visit.

This morning I stood for a while at a little distance from the door and then spotted an impressive stone gate post nearby. I had just nipped away to get a photo when my name was called. Luckily, I was still within earshot.
