Walk with me!

Had quite an easy day had a visit from friend, and neighbour & fellow blipper Mother-Shipton. WE had a good chinwag and on her departure said she had been for a walk to the Alt Dearg windmills. She made it sound like a walk in the park so at 3.30pm hubby and I set off to see the windmills.
WEll we walked & we walked & we walked and still the bloody windmills were miles away! I thought I was going to have at least three cornaries and of course both being Hebrideans when we go to the hills the thought of taking water , oranges or sweets never enters our heads!
On & on we tracheled with hubby saying "see the next time you see that bloody blip friend of yours....don't listen to her when she says shes been for a walk!"
Finally!!!! we reached the top at 5pm. The sun was beginning to set over Jura, I wanted to stay & watch, hubby wanted a beer & food! so we compromosed and I grabbed a few pics and we set off down the long steep winding track.
We saw one other person up top who was hammering some stobs in the ground, We had only walked down for about 15 min when this big Range Rover drew up alongside us and the guy offered us a much appreciated lift.
when we got to the bottom he asked us if we wanted to see the nerve centre of the whole operation & we said yes so he took us into the building at the bottom and fired up a computer which showed how much each windmill was generating. The one dedicated to Ardrishaig village has so far earned itself over one million pound, most of which goes to the Co op Bank who funded the project, some to Lithgows and the other estate and he reckoned over one hundred grand to ARdrishaig
HE then introduced himself "Im James, James Lithgow & we told him who were were and where we stayed. HE spent a lot of time explaing how the fins worked and the gearb ox etc and was a thourghly interesting and nice chap. We thanked him & went on our way, only when I was two miles donw the road, I realised I left my walking stick in his vehicle , so we turned back & there he was at the bottom of the road and said he was just about to track us down! we thanked him for the second time and went off home. Just s few minutes ago the phone rings and the voice says "hi its James again, you left your binos in my vehicle too, I will drop them off to you on Monday.
How did he find us...easy, he phoned up the Comunity Council chap who also knew us and gave him our number.
So though the afternonn/everning was indeed quite hectic it was also lovely.
Next time we go up there we will go a lot earlier.
As Mother Shipton has put up a lovely windmill photo I give you the sign at the bottom of the road, interesting reading
Happy blipping all
