Slush

Thursday was a bit more windy, chilly and damp than I had expected. Nevertheless, after a morning and early afternoon catching up with all sorts of reading and listening on the computer, I had a good and longish walk up to and along the Banknock Railway Path and then down to the Canal, from where I walked home.

I was surprised to see that quite a lot of the Canal out my way had still not fully thawed out after last week's snow and ice. A few solid icy patches of frozen Canal remained, but much of the surface looked more like a thin layer of slush with the watery sections limited to those areas near the locks. Bird life not much in evidence today.
