All Saints Parish Church :: MMC21

Northallerton's Parish Church, like many churches, has had a mixed history with some parts dating back to c.1120, although it is thought a church has stood here since the 7th century. 

The tower dates back to 1420, replacing the one that collapsed in 1318 after the Scots sacked Northallerton. Back in 1138AD Archbishop Thurston had rallied the troops nearby at the Battle of the Standards to beat the Scots. I gather more recent visits have been generally less troublesome...
