The Winter Gardens, Blackpool

I've had many a reason to visit The Winter Gardens during my lifetime, but I never imagined that I would be visiting,  in the middle of a pandemic, for a vaccine. I chose to go to one of the open centres rather than wait for my doctor to call. Booking online meant that I could also book and get the earliest date for my second dose (7th May).  I'm keen to get this over and done with so that I can get away for a break as soon as possible. I'm not bothered about going too far, but I would like to visit Scotland and Ireland this year. We will see.

The Winter Gardens is a large entertainment complex, which includes a theatre, ballroom and conference facilities. It is a grade II listed building.

Update: Sorry if this is misleading. You can't just book yourself in to a centre. You have to wait for the NHS letter with a booking reference. Once you get the letter you can either book online or sit tight and wait for your doctor to call. Having said that, the centre was so quiet today they seemed to be almost at the point of grabbing people off the street.
