Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

I did get a swift reply from a councillor, expressing regret at the state of our streets, and promising a ‘street clean’. They are reviewing the bin situation, and adding even more of the big ugly bins in ‘hubs’. NOT what we need. Just regular, twice weekly bin emptying, thanks.

I have done nothing today. JR took Archie out for a big walk, and didn’t insist that I move from the sofa. So I didn’t. Watched tennis. Ol’ Wet Shorts was on again.

But I did start reading my new book, ‘Where the Crawdads Sing’ by Delia Owens. Enjoying it!

The news that Harry and Meghan have got in first and told the RF that they aren’t coming back. Harry has lost all his honorary military titles. Twitter is ablaze with questions as to why Prince Andrew, who has brought so much shame to the RF, still retains his. Good question.

Hazel across the road took delivery of a long awaited new bedroom chair this evening. JR popped across to see it. Had I known that a glass of bubbly was involved, I would have gone over too, instead of having a shower and getting in to my jammies at the early hour of 6.30pm.

I’m going to turn off comments for a while, because I’m really not keeping up very well...
