Frozen!
Friday
We enjoyed a stunning hike today at Charleston Falls Preserve near Tipp City, (a lovely name!), a little under an hours drive north from where we live. It was very cold again, but after a grey start, it developed into a largely sunny day. The trail to the Falls was quite a wide track, and had been pretty well cleared, but beyond the falls, among the trees it was just foot steps marking the path through the snow. We had never been here before, but pictures of it come up on my Facebook feed from Cincinnati Hikes earlier in the week, and I thought today would be a good day to go. It was only about 2 miles of hiking, but so much beauty packed into that area, with the frozen waterfall, snowy stream beds, and shadows of the trees falling across the almost pristine snow. The bird in the lower left is our largest woodpecker, the pileated woodpecker. It was one of those days it just felt so good to be alive, and out in God’s wonderful creation!
While we were up in that area, we decided to visit an RV and camper dealership, so we came back with plenty of food for thought.
Tomorrow, we should have some more sun, and get close to freezing, and on Sunday for the first time in a while, we should actually get above freezing!
