English oak

Generally speaking an English Oak is not a typical garden tree in Australia. This one happens to be in our front garden. I would say it was growing long before the street was created. Luckily the boundaries were drawn around it.

We have had it trimmed several times. At the moment it is not a danger to the house, but it does keep on getting bigger every year. Next door is a very large gum tree which is potentially more of a threat, because gums are more prone to falling disasters.
