My day

We started the day chopping back a couple of very tall hedges and took a large load to the tip ( aka dump, recycling depot, garbage disposal, transfer station) just out of town. We are able to recycle a lot of our unwanted stuff. Yesterday we took a load consisting of two old barbecues ( metal), rings from a wine vat, half a wheelbarrow, wire netting ( all went to the Junction which processes and sells old stuff), batteries, light globes, and today garden refuse which they convert to compost which you can collect for the garden. There is also a methane gas collector which forms in the landfill. We are into recycling and don’t put out much into the garbage each week, maybe one small bag. I saw two vehicles arrive with old mattresses, I wonder what they do with them. 

Dinner is cooking while I post my blip. I had two sessions on the piano today after a few weeks off. It’s been pretty warm, up to 29°. We have hardly needed to use our air conditioner this summer, maybe we should have bought it last year when we would have had it running flat out in the heat. 

No community Covid cases in Australia today after the recent outbreak in Melbourne ( Holiday Inn Quarantine outbreak). They start vaccinations on Monday.
