Blossom season

Rather weird layered effect with the contrejour here. I found it intriguing, so I chose it from an otherwise bland set of photos. At least it was a nice enough day to go out for a walk, albeit rather windy; it was snowing almond blossom.

I have decided to write a blog entry about one of my neglected cookbooks, so I made some carrot and orange soup. I liked it, but it got the thumbs down from S. When I asked why, he said, "The flavour and the texture." Oh well. It is a recipe from the 1970s, or possibly earlier. All will be revealed once I've cooked a couple more from this book.
