Close up and Personal ....

... with the Grand and Petit Muveran on such a clear day above Bovonne. Apart from 2 other people who descended as we ascended, there was no one else around. Here you feel so close to these mountains it feels like you can touch them. The “old ladies club” exclaimed again, how lucky they were to still be able to get to these beautiful places when the ski pistes are so crowded, and therefore dangerous, to persons of a certain age! The knees and hips might complain for a while but we would rather be there than anywhere else! Extra is a view towards the Dents du Midi with a couple of chamois below us, on the snow.


(The first time I went up there was probably in 1994 with SwissPiper in a snow storm, I wouldn’t do that now!)
