the one that got away

when I first noticed this guy (double -crested cormorant or neotropic?) in the garden
it looked like he was wearing a necklace
on closer inspection , it was a fishing float
hanging from fishing line from his
beak , he let me get within 2 feet of him , clad in sturdy gardening
gloves, clasping snippers, (enough to frighten anyone)
before flying away
