Perfect
I woke up at 9:30am this morning which was much needed, but seemed to take forever to get ready and out! It was balmy again, and so nice to be able to go downstairs without freezing to death!
I was supposed to go for a walk with L today, but she messaged saying her sister (part of her bubble) was going to visit, and didn't know if she'd have time, and suggested going earlier. Only problem was I was still in my PJ's and she was in her dressing gown! We decided to reschedule for Tuesday as I'm working at home next week.
I wasn't sure what I'd do for the rest of the day, but I wanted to get out and walk so I texted my friend T to see if she fancied a walk. We talk on the phone all the time but I haven't physically seen her since August. She was up for it, and we had a two hour walk and catch-up in Brookwood cemetery and the surrounding parts. So utterly perfect being outside- the air smelled of spring, the sun came out and the sky was blue. I stopped to snap this too. We had a good natter as we always do, and then just as we were on our way out, L and her family spotted us! It felt a bit weird, but I don't know if it was just in my head!
L and I laughed how we hadn't managed to walk today, and she was there with her sister, her two girls and her dog. I worried that T would think she was second choice! We chatted for ages- me with L's sister and T with L- we were all on the course together last year and they hadn't seen each other in person since last March! L and I carried on, T has taken a break for a year.
If it wasn't for the stupid rules I would have suggested we all go out together, but it's hard when you can only meet up with one person. I felt a bit awkward, but then it was L who couldn't meet today, and so I rationalised that I didn't change/cancel our plans, but I just hope T didn't think she was a back-up! So not true, as we've been saying we'd walk but I never manage to meet as when I get free time the weather is crap!
I wish I could have bottled up that moment or taken a photo- it was lovely. Six of us and a dog, all happy, smiling, laughing and chatting whilst surrounded by nature and glorious fresh air! It made me realise how much I've missed the physical presence of people. I talk to these two on the phone all the time, but it's SO much better seeing them in person!
Came home all uplifted. L and I are walking on Tuesday, but hopefully we can all go together next time. It was lovely to see her and T together.
Home to finish next week's home learning bits, and must crack on with my assignment....
