Starling In Full Voice
Another beautiful day, I was up with the dawn chorus, had a wonderful, relaxed meander around the village before breakfast. Loved the early morning light and spotted several differenr birds in the trees. On the way home I spotted the starlings on the telephone wires and was able to stand underneathe and watch for ages. Lovely colourful birds all calling to each other, first I have ever noticed them doing that.
later as we were going out I heard a bird song I have never heard before, beautiful and so strong , a full throated sound. The bird was at the top of a larch tree in our next door neighbour's garden and I managed to get a reasonable blip of it. I think it is either a very large song thrush or a mistle thrush, first time I have seen or heard one around here.
However for me the wonderful irridescent colours of the starling's plumage just had to be tonight's very late upload.Large might be worth a look if you have time.
Late because we had changed the badminton club from Tuesday night to tonight because the Sons had a game on . So we promised the teenagers an extra hour of club to make up for changing their night
. Not long back Hope the weekend is as good as the week has been.
