Got Cardinals?

So this morning we were treated to an ice storm. Or freezing rain. Or whatever you call it. In any case - even though it was well above freezing there was ice all over all the trees and the ground and stuff continuing to pour down. The birds were going completely nuts when I put out a second breakfast serving and I was trying to count the cardinals. As you can see - there were a LOT in the tree - but I am here to tell you, there were at least as many on the ground at the same time. We have a LOT of cardinals chez nous. They do brighten up a grey morning!

And now it's mid afternoon and the sun is out and the ice has all melted off the trees and everyone has calmed down.
