Northern Lights
Fantastic clear sunny day. We went snowshoeing up to the summit of Kukas there is a new snowshoe path you can follow most of the way then we just struck out on the virgin snow to the summit. We have only been up there a few times before and every time it has been very windy, but today was almost still. Got some great shots up there.
When we got back the solar monitor was showing red a kp of 4 all of which is good for norther nights. We saw them a couple of times in the evening. Often they were right across the sky but very faint. They tended to come in and out and we had some nice 'curtain' effects, but nothing lasted very long tonight.
I've found the longish exposure (30 seconds) tends to slightly increase the amount of green you see in the image compared to what you see with your eyes. Possibly as the lights are constantly moving.
