St Luke’s, Milland

Beautiful sunny day with a breeze. It really felt like spring and the birds were singing away. More spring flowers are out too.

We walked from Rake to the church in Coldharbour wood and back through Chapel Common.

The top photo is St Luke’s and the bottom photo is Tuxlith Chapel at the same site.

The chapel was probably originally built in the 11th century. It was open so we could look round inside and although it has a new roof, some of the plaster inside the chapel had fallen down. Probably because it is damp. Such interesting history displayed inside with photos.
