Man at work
The Ards Man has saved us a fortune over the past few years by making his own plantation shutters, rather than buying them in.
The preparation does take a long time but there are online aids to help with dimensions, including the size of slats needed for different sized windows. The AM begins by making the frame to fit the window and then progresses to the slatted panels and their opening/closing controls.
I must confess to preferring the clean lines of shutters to curtains now, although I do like Roman blinds too. This new set of shutters is in the bedroom that used to belong to our older daughter. What am I saying? It is still her room, even though she moved out over ten years ago and now has her own house. And is getting married soon!
