Watching the fountain

My birthday today. The kids and I had a day in Wellington. We went for a wander round the outdoor shops and I bought myself some new hiking boots. This photo was taken next to Cuba Mall's famous "Bucket Fountain" which the kids are enthralled with. Later we went for tea at the Fisherman's Table in Oriental Bay. There was a music festival of some sort on near the waterfront so we had to negotiate the crowds to get back to where we had parked the car. The day was somewhat marred by the selfish act of a teenage girl who whipped my son's glasses off his face and disappeared with them. Attempts to catch up with her and find her in the crowd failed and I had to take my distraught son to find a police officer and report it. Fortunately he has a spare pair, but I am absolutely furious!
