They Survived and are Back!

Last fall, with all of the rain we had, the Gerbera's had a rough time.   The soil stayed wet for far too long.  The roots rotted, all of the leaves died back...  I wasn't sure whether my beautiful red flowers would be back this spring.    I let the feet dry out, cut away all of the dead leaves, stopped watering it, except once a month, then very slowly and sparingly, reintroduced additional water this month.   I watched and hoped.  
     Last week I saw some leaves budding.  This week they started unfurling..
THEY SURVIVED!!!!!!!!
I will continue to water keep them on the dry side,  protect from cold nights, frosts, and not let them fry in a hot, overhead sun.
