Art ... what's all that about??!?!

Farnham is in leafy Surrey - the land of stockbrokers and the like. So I was surprised to learn that not only did it have a university but that it focused exclusively on the creative arts. A colleague at work told me about it last weekend and specifically about an exhibition of photographs by Jason Oddy.

I was the only person there (apart from a receptionist). As you can see it is not exactly an inspiring entrance to the gallery. I kept thinking that in terms of the facade the UCA were not practising what they were preaching. Of course one shouldn't judge a book by its cover so perhaps all the exciting stuff is inside the classrooms and studios. I liked a couple of the photographs, particularly the Soviet era swimming pool that features on the website for the exhibition.

People were walking by outside, on the way to and from the town centre. These three stopped to chat, although it seemed more like the two on the left were in listen mode while the man in the great coat and wellies was on transmit only.
