A skylark on the wing

Helena and I ventured up to Minchinhampton Common to look for skylarks. We parked  in the middle of the common and within twenty yards of the car we spotted our first skylark, and heard them even before that.

We delighted in being surrounded by their sound and their presence..
I'm quite pleased to have got a reasonably good picture of one in flight before it ascended high in the sky.
