Lions And Tigers And Books

My Dear Princess, Loulou and Fellows,

I was actually going into the bookshop to post something as it doubles as a post office. But I liked this little inducement message.

In fact I have been buying a lot of used books online lately. I'm finding sites like ThriftBooks invaluable for tracking down old biographies. I was surprised to find that this was the only way I could pick up both volumes of Shelley Winters' autobiography.

I mean. Shelley Winters. She's not that obscure, right? You know who she is, right? I was surprised that her biographies are now out of print.

Don't get me started on James Robertson Justice, Blake Edwards and James Mason.

But at least I managed to secure the Shelley books at a decent price. They are on their way to me now and I'm hoping for an exciting, salacious, glamorous read.

Oh, and in a Gromit-update, today we met with marketing. Remember how I thought her ambitious plans would be knocked back over the cost?

Well, look at me, Mr. Psychic because that's exactly what happened.

I was a bit sad, because she had been so excited about it. But then...

"Oh, I'm messaging Adam* right now. And he says the budget is FINE."

Said Gromit. To marketing man who had just pooed on her plans. He was left spluttering.

Seriously. I'm really reassessing my opinion about Gromit. All the things I thought would be shot down in flames are really happening. Maybe she's actually brilliant, and I'm just too cynical to see it.

S.

* I don't know who Adam is. He sounds important.
